Don’t Chase Every Squirrel: Staying Focused in Your Real Estate Journey
Ollie and Eloise’s Real Estate Rules

In the fast-moving world of real estate, it’s easy to get distracted. One minute you're looking for a cozy bungalow by the beach—and the next, you’ve booked five showings for sleek downtown lofts with rooftop hot tubs and espresso bars in the lobby. 🐿️

But take it from Ollie and Eloise, our resident four-legged real estate gurus: “Don’t chase every squirrel.” Not every trendy listing that pops up on your feed is right for you. Just because it’s shiny doesn’t mean it’s the one.

Why Focus Matters

When you're shopping for a home—whether it’s your first, your dream house, or an investment property—it’s important to stay rooted in your priorities. What are your non-negotiables? Your must-haves vs. your nice-to-haves? If you don’t keep these top of mind, you could find yourself chasing listings that look great on paper but don’t actually serve your goals.

Here are a few tips from Ollie and Eloise (and your friendly Halifax realtor) on how to stay focused:

🦴 1. Make a list—and stick to it.

Before you start the house hunt, outline your ideal home's features, location, and budget. When temptation strikes, pull out the list and ask: Does this fit what I truly want?

🦴 2. Remember your “why.”

Are you buying to be closer to family? To have more space for your dog to run? To invest in your future? Keep your motivation front and center—it’s your compass.

🦴 3. Trust the process.

The right home will come, and it won’t require you to chase your tail. Be patient, stay grounded, and work with a realtor who listens (and maybe brings treats).

At the end of the day, real estate is about more than just the latest trends—it’s about finding a place that feels like home.

Ollie and Eloise say: stay focused, stay grounded, and don’t get distracted by squirrels. 🐾
